3. Indicator
- 1Rinse the glasswares, fill the burette, and record the initial reading.
- 2Pipette the analyte into a conical flask and add a few drops of indicator.
- 3Add the standard solution slowly from the burette, swirling the flask constantly.
- 4Stop when the indicator permanently changes color (end point).
- 5Record the final burette reading and calculate the unknown concentration.

🧪 Apparatus Setup
- Burette: Holds the standard solution (known concentration).
- Conical Flask: Holds the analyte (unknown concentration), measured precisely with a pipette.
- White Tile: Place it under the conical flask to see the indicator color change clearly at the end point.
⚠️ Practical Operations
- Air Bubbles: Must expel air bubbles from the burette tip before titration to avoid inaccurate volume readings.
- Swirling: Swirl the flask constantly during titration to ensure thorough mixing.
- Rinsing (DSE Classic): Rinse burette & pipette with their respective solutions; rinse conical flask with distilled water only.
